Quality Control Inspector - 2nd Shift

Job Title: Quality Control Inspector
Shift: Monday - Thursday, 3pm - 11pm (occasional overtime, as needed)
Job Summary:
The Quality Control Inspector is responsible for ensuring manufactured parts meet company and customer quality standards. This role involves inspecting parts, documenting results, and working closely with production to identify and resolve quality issues.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Approval of production samples for shift and/or job start up
- Perform inspections with the use of calipers, balance machine, micrometers, gauges, and visual inspection techniques
- Monitor quality work in progress and communicate any defects or concerns to supervisors
- Document inspection results in 4D database to maintain accurate quality records
- Approve or reject parts based on established criteria and initiate non-conformance report
- Quarantine and sort suspect parts, as needed
- Communicate quality concerns to production, supervisors, and management
- Ensure compliance with customer specifications, ISO standards, and internal procedures
- Maintain a clean and organized inspection area
- Follow all safety guidelines and company policies
- Other duties as assigned
- Knowledge of basic manufacturing processes and machine operations
- Understanding of safety procedures and quality standards
- Strong communication and people skills
- Strong organization and time management skills
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently with minimal supervision
- Basic computer and math skills
- Willingness to assist with production and floor coverage when needed
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or GED, required
Quality Control experience, preferably in a manufacturing setting
Physical Requirements:
Employee must be able to stand and walk on production floor for extended periods of time and perform physical tasks associated with a manufacturing environment. The role requires the ability to lift, push, or pull up to 30 pounds as needed, bend, stoop, kneel, and reach during daily operations, and assist with basic production activities when required. The employee must be able to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) and work safely in environments with noise, dust, heat, and moving machinery. Good vision, hand coordination, and manual dexterity are necessary to monitor production processes and ensure quality standards are met.
Work Environment:
The work environment includes both office space and the production floor with uncontrolled temperatures. This role involves regular exposure to production equipment, moving machinery, elevated noise levels, heat generated from molding processes, dust and industrial odors. The position requires strict adherence to safety procedures and the use of required personal protective equipment (PPE). The Quality Control Inspector must be comfortable working in a fast-paced, hands-on environment while supporting machine operators and production staff.
